School Board honors MGM Resorts International

During their Dec. 13, 2012, regular meeting, the Clark County School District (CCSD) Board of Trustees recognized MGM Resorts International for their dedication and commitment to the Reclaim Your Future Mentoring Project. The project was designed in Nov. 2011 to support the Graduate Advocate Initiative. The goal of this initiative is to improve the graduation rate in the youth enrolled in CCSD high schools. The seniors targeted for this support are off-track for graduation due to credit deficiency, and/or inability to the High School Proficiency Exam, and/or seniors who face other barriers to graduation. Graduation Initiative Coordinator Debbie Tomasetti said MGM Resorts International has done a great deal to promote the project within their employee groups and in the community. For example, hundreds of CCSD students received a behind-the-scenes tour at five of the company???s properties and shadowed company employees to learn of the wide-range of nongaming careers made available at MGM Resorts.
