Starkey Hearing Foundation partnered with CCSD, 100 students and adults benefited

Starkey Hearing Foundation delivered the gift of hearing to more than 100 under-served, hearing-impaired children and adults from the Las Vegas area. The gift is supported by the Starkey Foundation and its sponsors: the Las Vegas Hilton, Associated Television International, CCSD and the Daytime Emmy's (National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences). The Las Vegas Hearing Mission was supported by CCSD volunteers with specialties in audiology, counseling, interpretation and American Sign Language. Working alongside the Starkey Hearing Foundation, the Clark County School District Community Partnership Office assisted in identifying students with great need. This collaborative project provided a no-cost assessment, and hearing aid. The generous donation of time and talent provided in this partnership provided for more than $500,000 worth of assistance. Many Celebrities were available to assist the fittings on Saturday, June 18, and provided support and encouragement during the first moments when students realized sound for the first time.
