Josh Bell Project

Faiss Middle School Orchestra students were treated to an once-in-a-lifetime experience when they traveled to Mesa Arizona on February 11, 2011 to see the world famous violinist, Josh Bell, in concert. Thanks to the efforts of their director, David Heyman, they were able to go backstage before the concert to meet the artist in person. This movie focuses on their meeting with Bell backstage. The students watched Bell do his final preparations onstage via a video monitor, and then he joined them in the greenroom, where he told them about his life, answered their many questions, and even played his Stradivarius for them. The students had the benefit of Josh Bell's expertise in what really amounted to a private master class.
