Students celebrate Cyril Wengert elementary's High Progress Reward School status

Cyril Wengert Elementary School safety officers greeted Clark County School (CCSD) Board President Carolyn Edwards, CCSD Academic Manager Becky Kaatz and Appreciation Financial Chief Executive Officer Terry Kennedy in anticipation of the special announcement that all 75 teachers at the school would receive Teacher Exchange gift cards totaling more than $56,000 in resources for classrooms. The students sang songs and chanted in celebration of the Nevada Department of Educations's High Progress Reward School status announcement, an honor which the state bestows on the school with the highest level of student growth over three years. Wengert Elementary School has attained that status and is among the highest 10 percent of schools showing academic growth across the state of Nevada.
