June 7, 2013 news conference announcing new Nevada School Performance Framework

On June 7, 2013, the Nevada Department of Education (NDE) launched its new Nevada School Performance Framework ranking system to compare Nevada's public schools. The new, statewide ranking system should not be confused with the Clark County School District (CCSD) School Performance Framework that has been used to rank Southern Nevada schools for the past two years. The shared goal of the District and State is to have a transparent system for the public to gauge the educational quality of schools and provide support to schools in pursuit of educational excellence. Moving forward, CCSD will be using the state of Nevada's School Performance Framework. Both the NDE and CCSD believe in transparency and the ability for the entire community to look at schools and easily see how they perform in relation to other schools in the state.
